How to connect Grok to tastytrade
With TraderWAI, Grok can read live charts, check your tastytrade account and prepare orders with stop loss and take profit that you approve. It takes about 2 minutes and you don't need to install anything on your computer.
tastytrade: US broker (member of FINRA, NFA and SIPC). In TraderWAI: US futures such as MNQ, MES or MGC, on live accounts.
Step 1: add TraderWAI to Grok
Works on grok.com and in the Grok app. Uses Grok's custom connectors (if you don't see the option, your plan or region may not have it yet).
Server URL to paste in Grok:

- Open Grok and go to Connectors (grok.com/connectors, or Settings → Connectors in the app).
- Click «New Connector» and choose «Custom».
- Name: TraderWAI. Server URL: https://mcp.traderwai.com
- Save and sign in with Google to authorize access (if you don't have a TraderWAI account yet, it is created at this step).
- In a new chat, ask Grok to use TraderWAI, e.g. «Show me the EUR/USD H1 chart».
If it doesn't work
- No «New Connector» or «Custom» option: custom connectors depend on your Grok plan and region. Your TraderWAI account works the same with Claude or ChatGPT, including their free plans.
- Grok doesn't use the tools: start a new chat, check that TraderWAI is enabled for the chat and name it in your request («Using TraderWAI, show me…»).
- Sign-in fails or loops: allow pop-ups for grok.com, sign in with the same Google or Microsoft account you use on TraderWAI, then remove the connector and add it again.
- The URL must be exactly https://mcp.traderwai.com (https, no extra path or spaces).
Step 2: connect your tastytrade account
In TraderWAI go to Settings → Broker accounts → Add account and choose tastytrade.
Click «Connect tastytrade», sign in on tastytrade and approve TraderWAI (read and trade). There is no API key and TraderWAI never sees your tastytrade password; you can remove the access in your tastytrade account at any time. Futures only, on live accounts (beta).
tastytrade works on the free plan: unlimited charts and analysis, and 5 order executions per day.
Step 3: ask Grok
Open a new chat and try, for example:
- «Show me the Nasdaq 100 future (NAS100_FUT) H1 chart and, if the setup holds, prepare a 1-contract MNQ buy limit with stop loss and take profit.»
- «Which futures positions and working orders do I have on my account?»
- «Prepare a 1-contract MES sell stop below today's low with a stop loss and a 2R take profit. I'll approve it.»
What Grok can do with your tastytrade account
- Read live charts in any timeframe, with the indicators you ask for.
- Check your balance, open positions and pending orders.
- Backtest a strategy idea on historical data before risking anything.
- Prepare market, limit and stop orders with stop loss and take profit that you approve.
- Leave conditional orders that TraderWAI watches every minute.
- Respect your risk limits: maximum daily loss and drawdown, risk per trade, size and number of trades.

Is it free to connect Grok to tastytrade?
Yes. The free plan includes unlimited charts and analysis and 5 order executions per day.
Does Grok place orders on its own?
Only if you want it to. By default every order needs your approval. You can also allow automatic execution for specific symbols, always within the risk limits you set.
Is my tastytrade account safe?
TraderWAI connects through tastytrade's official authorization (OAuth): you sign in on tastytrade and TraderWAI never sees your password. It only acts on your account as you instruct, and you can remove its access in your tastytrade account at any time.
Does it work with demo accounts?
Not for now: TraderWAI connects live tastytrade accounts (futures only, beta). Orders use micro contracts by default (MNQ, MES, MYM, MCL, MGC) and your risk limits are checked before every order.
