How to connect Perplexity to your tastytrade account

With TraderWAI, Perplexity can read live charts, check your tastytrade account and prepare orders with stop loss and take profit that you approve. Setup takes a few minutes.

1. Add TraderWAI to Perplexity

Requires Perplexity Pro, Max or Enterprise. Use the website or the desktop app (the mobile apps may not show custom connectors yet).

Open Perplexity on the web and go to Settings → Connectors (perplexity.ai/account/connectors).
Click «+ Custom connector» and choose «Remote».
Name: TraderWAI. MCP server URL: https://mcp.traderwai.com. Authentication: OAuth.
Add it and sign in with Google to authorize access (if you don't have a TraderWAI account yet, it is created at this step).
In a new thread, turn on TraderWAI in the sources/connectors menu and ask, e.g. «Show me the EUR/USD H1 chart».

2. Connect your tastytrade account

In TraderWAI, add your tastytrade account with the platform it uses:

Click «Connect tastytrade», sign in on tastytrade and approve TraderWAI (read and trade). There is no API key and TraderWAI never sees your tastytrade password; you can remove the access in your tastytrade account at any time. Futures only, on live accounts (beta).

3. Ask Perplexity

Try one of these in a new chat:

«Show me the Nasdaq 100 future (NAS100_FUT) H1 chart and, if the setup holds, prepare a 1-contract MNQ buy limit with stop loss and take profit.»
«Which futures positions and working orders do I have on my account?»
«Prepare a 1-contract MES sell stop below today's low with a stop loss and a 2R take profit. I'll approve it.»

tastytrade and TraderWAI: what to know

tastytrade is a US broker (tastytrade, Inc., a registered broker-dealer and member of FINRA, NFA and SIPC). TraderWAI connects to it through tastytrade's official authorization (OAuth), in beta: you sign in on tastytrade and approve TraderWAI to read your account and trade. TraderWAI never sees your tastytrade password, and you can remove the access in your tastytrade account.
In TraderWAI, tastytrade is for futures only (no stocks or options), on live accounts. Orders use these contracts by default (micros where available): Nasdaq 100 → MNQ, S&P 500 → MES, Dow → MYM, WTI crude → MCL, Brent → BZ and gold → MGC.
Market, limit and stop orders with stop loss and take profit, in whole contracts. tastytrade accounts work on TraderWAI's Free plan. During the beta, the history of closed trades is not available yet.

What Perplexity can do with your tastytrade account

Read live charts in any timeframe, with the indicators you ask for.
Check your balance, open positions and pending orders.
Backtest a strategy idea on historical data before risking anything.
Prepare market, limit and stop orders with stop loss and take profit that you approve.

Can I connect Claude or ChatGPT to tastytrade?

Yes, for futures. Add TraderWAI to Claude or ChatGPT (free plans work), then in TraderWAI choose tastytrade and click «Connect tastytrade»: you sign in on tastytrade and approve the access. Your AI can then read futures charts and prepare orders you approve. TraderWAI is independent and not affiliated with tastytrade.

Can I trade stocks or options on tastytrade with TraderWAI?

Not for now: TraderWAI supports tastytrade futures only, on live accounts (beta).
